In what US and Philippine authorities are calling, “One of the most successful joint operations,” versus stolen cars from the USA to Asia; 25 cars and 18 Super-bikes are now in the custody of the Philippine National Police. In total; the National Bureau of Investigation agent in charge for northern Mindanao told a local newspaper in Cagayan de Oro, while Police in Davao City are also looking into if any of the cars or bikes had reached the largest city in Mindanao.

US-Philippine police seize 25 hot cars, 18 bikes
Sun.Star - Annabelle L. Ricalde - CAGAYAN DE ORO — Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Wednesday seized 25 luxury cars and 15 motorbikes in separate raids here and in Bukidnon. …
As more reports are story trickled in starting with one story of a man and his bike, who hired a private investigation company and coordinated with Police and the National Bureau of Investigation including the resident FBI agent in Manila who serves as the Embassy Legal Attaché. The relentless search for Skip Wood’s custom Harley Davidson based Martin Bro’s original, is an ‘American chopper rare in Asia’.
This led police, led by Prov. Director Buboy Mijares, and NBI Cagayan de Oro chief Wenzy Galindez, agent in charge of Cagayan de Oro City, to uncover a rare find of cars, Wood’s custom bike and over three dozen motorcycles – toys for big boys – allegedly meant for the rich and powerful of Mindanao, who after a full investigation currently ongoing, may uncover one of the largest car theft rings to Asia and, result in multiple arrests, both here in the Philippines, as well as in the U.S.A.
Much of the success goes to a successful investigation by OSI, Orion Services Inc., a private investigators firm, who tirelessly searched for, and recovered the bike of Woods, and more so, may lead to the unheard of recovery of vehicles returned to their owners in Texas.
What started as a locate-and-recover job for a Martin Bros Chopper worth US $80K which was stolen from a Hollywood writer in Houston, Texas resulted in a full blown multi-agency operation involving the PNP, NBI, US FBI and Houston Police Dept. and the discovery of a Texas-Philippine stolen vehicles and firearms smuggling ring operating in Bukidnon and Cagayan De Oro provinces.
-OSI statement issued on condition of anonymity.
Overall, the successful operation, per local police and NBI, is still a work in progress on other vehicles recovered. The owner of the warehouses, two of which were raided, is under investigation.
